Battle of the Coral Sea
The Battle of Coral Sea, fought from May 4 to May 8, 1942, marked a pivotal naval engagement during World War II, featuring aircraft carriers from the U.S. and Japan. It was the first battle fought solely by carrier-based aircraft and prevented Japanese advancement towards Australia.
